Most schools run their events in October to coincide with Mental Health Month.

Why host a Talk-And-Walk-A-Thon?

Human connection is vital to our mental
health. Connectedness is linked to feelings
of wellbeing and contributes to a positive
school culture.

The Talk-And-Walk-A-Thon is an opportunity
to build connections between students, and
help develop your students’ conversational
skills and self-confidence.

Research has shown the benefits of
students feeling a sense of connectedness
at school include:

  1. A positive school culture.
  2. A reduction in bullying behaviours.
  3. Higher attendance rates.
  4. Improved academic outcomes.
