Moving Forward:

Resilience is the capacity to adapt in challenging situations. These experiences provide opportunities to develop and practice strategies to enhance wellbeing.

Moving Forward cultivates resilience in students by exploring protective factors and strategies used in new and changing situations. The module addresses resilient responses to difficult life situations in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

A three step model highlights the process students may use to cope with challenging situations.

Step 1 – Pause to gain clarity of the situation

Step 2 – Plan strategies for working through challenges

Step 3 – Proceed with resilient responses

Moving Forward focuses on:

  • identifying personal qualities and strengths
  • acknowledging of achievements
  • identifying people who provide support
  • utilising the three step model
  • developing coping strategies
  • developing resilience.
