Peer Support General Manager Sharon Austin Retires

It is with great sadness we announce just this month, Sept 2014, we farewelled our General Manager, Sharon Austin as she retired after 15 years of dedication to and working for Peer Support Australia. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sharon for being a major influence and taking Peer Support Australia on the journey to where it is today. There have been many achievements she has been involved with over the years, contributing to the Peer Support Program and the hundreds of thousands of students and thousands of schools participating in the program each year. Sharon formed incredible lasting relationships and initiated many lasting projects, to name a few, extending the reach of the Program across Australia as we now provide training in all states across the country, the organisation’s Accreditation & successful reviews, securing Government funding to 2015, Brand refresh, new funding from Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund to assist in ACT, South Australia & Northern Territory, building our latest website and welcoming our Vice Regal Patron, Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Timothy Sharp (aka Dr Happy) and Peter Cousens as our Ambassadors.

The staff would like to acknowledge Sharon as a Manager, leader, and staff member of Peer Support committed and highly valued, respected, who was a pleasure to work with. We will all miss her very much but wish her all the very best in retirement, as she now has the time to focus on her family, her faithful dog, Smoky, and many friends eager for coffee and lunches!
