facilitating teachers' workshop
for secondary teachers
|
Peer Support Australia is committed to assisting schools to develop safe and positive learning environments.
To help achieve this through peer led education, Peer Support Australia offers a one day Facilitating Teachers' Workshop. This workshop is designed to provide participants with the expertise and confidence to effectively facilitate Peer Support student leadership training and support the school’s Peer Support Program Coordinator. Schools need to have attended an Implementation workshop within 5 years prior to registering for this workshop.

workshop details
The purpose of the workshop is to enable participants to:
- articulate the underpinning principles and concepts of the Peer Support Program
- confidently facilitate student leadership training for Peer leaders
- utilise their group facilitation skills.
why should i attend a facilitating teachers' workshop rather than an implementation workshop?
As a Facilitating Teacher you will be supporting the Peer Support Program Coordinating teacher during the student leadership training. You will be responsible for conducting the entire 2 day leadership training program with the same group of 14 -16 students.
This allows you to:
- develop a rapport with the group
- observe the development of individual skills over the 2 days
- assess the leadership competencies of the students.
