Peter Cousens becomes an Ambassador for Peer Support Australia

Peer Support Australia is pleased to announce that Peter Cousens BDA (Acting) NIDA, Producer/Director, Adjunct Associate Professor CQU, accepted an invitation to become an Ambassador for Peer Support Australia.

Peter Cousens has had a diverse range of experience in the performing arts over the last thirty five years, as an actor, singer, director, producer and most recently film director. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), he worked for ten years as an actor on television and on stage in Australia before becoming an internationally acclaimed musical theatre star.

More recently he founded and was Artistic Director of the National Musical Theatre Company: Kookaburra in Australia, producing seven musicals over a two year period. He co-produced Break a Leg, a series of ten short films depicting aspects of the careers of famous Australian entertainers and produced the television event, An Audience with Stephen Sondheim for ABC and Foxtel.

Peter recently produced and directed the feature film Freedom. Filmed in Connecticut USA it  stars Cuba Gooding Jr., William Sadler and Sharon Leal.
